UMPC Welcomes New Education Students

“Jacta alea est!” (by Julius Caesar) means “no turning back”.

To give an impact to the students to stand by their choice they’ve made in enrolling the Education course, Prof. Pedrito Misoles reiterated the statement during the orientation of the Department of Education (DTE) on June 24, 2014, at the University of Mindanao Panabo College (UMPC), new building.

The orientation of Future Educators started with the invocation given by the designated third year BEED students, followed by the National Anthem and University Hymn in multi-media. To formally open the said event, Dr. Celso L. Tagadiad, DTE Program Head gave his opening remarks and the introduction of the Education Faculty members was presented.

There are students who gave intermission numbers to entertain the audience and it shows how gifted and talented they are. Accomplishment report for last year was given by Rushel Boy P. Denoyo, former DTE Governor. The introduction of the new DSG-DTE Officers followed with Mr. JJ P. Bohol the new elected Governor, presenting his Board Members and Executive Officers. Along with it, Governor Bohol delivered his presentation for the operational plan for the S.Y. 2014-2015.

The orientation deliberated that UM is an open admission since the school believes no one should be left behind and it is driven to serve the needy and marginalized in Mindanao. It also showcased how teaching competence had positively affected the learning outcome in the previous years, and as perceived, in years to come.

“To walk the talk, not to talk the talk”, as Prof. Misoles said. Do not say it just in words but show it through actions.

Stand by it and be firm.
