Six different colleges and universities from
Davao region pleaded the invitation. St. Paul College of Davao (SPCD),
Brokenshire College of Davao (BCD), Gabriel Taborin College of Davao (GTC),
Aces Polytechnic College of Panabo (APCP), Davao Del Norte State College (DNSC)
and University of Mindanao Panabo College (UMPC).
In the semi-finals, GTCD plays hard time with
UMPC putting the ball into basket. Jay Ar Damian(UMPC) throws consecutive shots
bringing their team to direct in the first half. Briann Maratas and (UMPC)
put in scores against the opponent but in second half GTCD gets back
scores and beats UMPC.
In the end, St. Paul College of Davao grabbed
1st place while Broken Shire College of Davao announced as 2nd
placer. Gabriel Taborin College of Davao addressed as the 3rd placer
and University of Mindanao Panabo College as 4th placer.
Sir
Reggie P. Cañizares-UMPC head
coach stated,“Though titled as 4th placer, my team done their
best... execute the moves that they’ve practiced, that’s it. We will just do
more trainings in order for us to do better next time”.
The current standing of UMPC in the whole
Davao del Norte inter-collegiate game is 1-1. One lost fight against University
of Mindanao Tagum College and one championship aligned with Aces Polytechnic
College of Panabo. This shows that UMPC will never be left behind in sports
affair.
UMPC basketball players aim to grasp champion
on the next tournaments and preparing on-hand practices for them to achieve
their goal on the upcoming tournaments.
