UMian placed a rank in a Tournament

   Along with the celebration of the 26th Araw ng Alejal 2014, held at Alejal, Carmen, Davao del Norte, University of Mindanao Panabo College varsity snatch a triumph in an invitational intercollegiate basketball tournament last July 19, 2014.

   Six different colleges and universities from Davao region pleaded the invitation. St. Paul College of Davao (SPCD), Brokenshire College of Davao (BCD), Gabriel Taborin College of Davao (GTC), Aces Polytechnic College of Panabo (APCP), Davao Del Norte State College (DNSC) and University of Mindanao Panabo College (UMPC).

   In the semi-finals, GTCD plays hard time with UMPC putting the ball into basket. Jay Ar Damian(UMPC) throws consecutive shots bringing their team to direct in the first half. Briann Maratas and  (UMPC)  put in scores against the opponent but in second half GTCD gets back scores and beats UMPC.

   In the end, St. Paul College of Davao grabbed 1st place while Broken Shire College of Davao announced as 2nd placer. Gabriel Taborin College of Davao addressed as the 3rd placer and University of Mindanao Panabo College as 4th placer.

   Sir Reggie P. Cañizares-UMPC head coach stated,“Though titled as 4th placer, my team done their best... execute the moves that they’ve practiced, that’s it. We will just do more trainings in order for us to do better next time”.

   The current standing of UMPC in the whole Davao del Norte inter-collegiate game is 1-1. One lost fight against University of Mindanao Tagum College and one championship aligned with Aces Polytechnic College of Panabo. This shows that UMPC will never be left behind in sports affair.

   UMPC basketball players aim to grasp champion on the next tournaments and preparing on-hand practices for them to achieve their goal on the upcoming tournaments.
